Bus-Tech, Inc. Announces NetShuttle for Microsoft Host Integration Server
Burlington, Ma. - November 11, 2002 - Bus-Tech, Inc., a leading supplier of data center connectivity products announced today the NetShuttle for Microsoft Host Integration Server; expanding their System/390 communications controller product family.
The NetShuttle for Microsoft Host Integration Server is a 2U (3.4" high) rack-mount system using an Intel® Xeon processor. The platform provides hardware redundant, hot-swappable system disks and load-sharing, hot-swappable power supplies and fans for high availability. Intel® Server Management software provides automatic health monitoring, proactive messaging, and post-issue diagnostics.
NetShuttle includes a Bus-Tech, Inc. PCI Enterprise System Connection (ESCON) adapter for plug and play connectivity to IBM System/390 class mainframes. Bus-Tech, Inc.'s PCI ESCON is built on IBM enabling technology to guarantee channel compatibility. NetShuttle also includes two on-board 10/100/1000 Ethernet interfaces. Two additional 10/100/1000 Ethernet or Token Ring interfaces and a second ESCON interface are optional.
NetShuttle runs Microsoft's Windows 2000 Server and includes Microsoft's Host Integration Server 2000 to provide support for 3270, TN3270, and LU6.2 traffic. Bus-Tech, Inc.'s TCP/IP Direct Connect technology is included to allow NetShuttle to concurrently operate as a channel-attached" IP router. Multi-Path Channel Plus (MPC+) software can be added to provide the highest possible throughput for demanding IP applications.

NetShuttle for Microsoft Host Integration Server is available immediately through Bus-Tech, Inc. resellers. Pricing starts at $26,500 including one ESCON interface, two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 and TCP/IP Direct Connect. A second ESCON interface can be added for $12,500. MPC+ software lists for $2,500.
