ANACOMP to Provide Worldwide On-Site Support For Bus-Tech, Inc.'s Storage Products
On-site Maintenance Supports Strategic Virtual Tape Appliance
SAN DIEGO, CA - Aug. 12, 2003 - Anacomp, Inc. (OTC BB: ANCPA) a global provider of information outsourcing services, maintenance support and imaging and print solutions, today announced it has been selected by Bus-Tech, Inc. to provide exclusive worldwide onsite hardware service and support for Bus-Tech, Inc.'s Mainframe Appliance for Storage (MAS).
Bus-Tech, Inc.'s MAS is a virtual tape controller for IBM System/390 and compatible mainframes which uses open-system storage devices to store and retrieve mainframe tape data sets. The MAS uses one or two ESCON adapters to connect to System/390 processors. Each ESCON adapter can emulate up to 32 IBM 3480 tape drives. Jobs running under z/OS, OS/390, or VSE can allocate tape volumes on the emulated tape drives in the same fashion they allocate a real tape drive. Tape management systems also operate transparently with the MAS to control tape volume allocation and expiration just as with real tape volumes.
