RoHS/WEEE Compliance
Bus-Tech maintains a clear and committed focus on minimizing impact on the environment, fully integrating environmental performance into overall business and manufacturing processes.
The Bus-Tech business model is based upon inventory and product manufacturing efficiencies that translate into tangible benefits for the environment. Because all Bus-Tech products are made to order, Bus-Tech maintains only several days of inventory for associated components, minimizing environmental impact accordingly. It therefore follows that parts and components are only ordered and shipped to Bus-Tech when they are ready to be assembled into the final Bus-Tech product.
Additionally, Bus-Tech products comprise the latest technology offerings associated with x86 (Intel Server) technologies, delivering consistent efficiencies from a power and related heat dissipation (I.E. air conditioning) consumption viewpoint.
Bus-Tech also maintains a strict policy for environmental directive compliance for the production and supply of products, including Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS - Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment) and Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE - Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment).
Bus-Tech fully understands the environmental risks associated with the substances covered by the RoHS Directive, being fully committed to eliminating or eradicating such use. This directive was implemented as of 23 January 2006 by Bus-Tech for products sold in the European Union (EU) after 30 June 2006, fully complying with the EU RoHS requirements (as permitted by the RoHS Directive, service or upgrade parts that do not meet the restricted levels may continue to be offered to support legacy products sold prior to 1 July 2006).
Similarly as part of the Bus-Tech technology replacement initiative, old Bus-Tech products are collected and recycled when replacing with new products, while all Bus-Tech products manufactured and shipped conform to the WEEE directive and are marked with the WEEE crossed out wheelie bin logo.
Furthermore, all parts and components contained within Bus-Tech products (I.E. Intel Server, Emulex HBA) are also fully RoHS and WEEE compliant.
