Bus-Tech's PCI-Bus Channel Adapters

Technical Information

To give you the most reliable operation of your Bus-Tech Channel Adapter, we recommend that you obtain the latest firmware and driver releases from us, and you should install the latest Service Packs from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/.

Bus-Tech periodically updates its firmware and drivers, and many problems can be quickly resolved by installing the latest releases.

VTAM PU Configuration

Each of the VTAM PU subchannel addresses must be defined as an SNA 3174 controller. Please review the SNA 3174 controller IOCP configuration examples for a Bus and Tag channel or an ESCON channel.

Common Problems

  • LED Flashing Red on PBCA (Bus & Tag Adapter)

This is an indication that the PBCA was not able to communicate with the Channel Tailgate Assembly during its Power On Self Test. The most likely cause is a disconnected, loose, or defective Channel Tailgate cable. Check the cabling and restart the server to clear the problem.
